Wellness in mind, body and spirit is important to your success at university. Student Wellness Services is staffed by trained service providers (family physicians, personal counsellors, registered nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, wellness educators and peer helpers). The following are some of the services available to you through Student Wellness Services
Student Health Services
You can access medical services at U of G’s Student Health Services Clinic, including regular checkups, dietary advice, free seasonal flu shots, dispensing of birth control pills and products prescribed by Student Health Services doctors, and a walk-in clinic.
You can also access confidential counselling services at U of G if you need individual support to work through the personal challenges that impact your ability to adjust to university life and succeed at school and in other areas of your life.
The Wellness Education Centre is the educational arm of Student Wellness Services. The centre is a student-driven, safe space where you can find support for your health and well-being. You can get information kits on health-related issues such as stress management, and you can attend workshops about healthy eating, mental health and many other topics.
Student Accessibility Services
If you have a disability that requires accommodation and support, Student Accessibility Services is available to help you. It is important that you reach out to the office as soon as possible to ensure the appropriate supports are in place for you at the start of the school year.
