Where you live and how you get to your classes are an important part of university life.
Laurentian provides information you need to help you decide whether you should apply for residence or seek housing off campus. If you live off campus, you’ll also get information about public transportation options and availability of parking services to help you with your commute.
Laurentian offers 8 types of residence with different accommodation styles and floor layouts.
- Shared or single rooms
- A Mature Student Residence (MSR) that houses mature and upper-year students
Renting an apartment in Sudbury is another option if you want or need to live off campus. Visit Laurentian’s off-campus housing office to find rental listings and costs.
Whether you live in residence or off campus, finding a place to eat is made easier with the university’s meal plans, which give you access to both on- and off-campus vendors.
You can usually find something going on in residence. You will meet and make friends with students with diverse backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, values and interests from you. You will be invited to participate in social activities, cultural events and educational programs. Residence life is about finding the right balance for you to support your personal and academic goals, and your health and well-being.
Laurentian’s U-Pass gives you unlimited access to the Sudbury Transit system. This unlimited pass is included in your student fees and allows you free use of the system from September to April.
Visitor parking and parking pay stations are also located on campus.
