Note: The name of a program may vary from university to university, and that not every university features the same programs.

Faculty of Science

You can find programs, such as Biology, Psychology, Chemistry, Physics, Kinesiology, Health Sciences, Nursing and Environmental Studies in many faculties of science. These programs usually offer hands-on learning opportunities in labs. Many require math, science and English high school courses for admission.

Faculty of Arts

You can find programs, such as History, English, Political Science, Fine Art, Global Studies, Religion, Languages and Journalism in many faculties of arts. These programs usually involve plenty of essay assignments to build your writing and communication skills. Many require English high school courses for admission.

Faculty of Business Administration

Business programs include Entrepreneurship, Management, Marketing, Finance, Accounting and Economics. These programs usually offer opportunities for group work and classroom presentations. Many require math and English high school courses for admission.

Faculty of Music

Faculties of music offer music programs that may allow you to focus on Conducting, Performance, History or Theory. These programs usually include performance time on campus and tutoring with professors. Many require English high school courses and 1 instrument to be performed at an audition for admission.

Faculty of Education

There are 2 ways to become a teacher in Ontario:

  1. You can take a concurrent education program that allows you to earn an undergraduate degree and teaching degree at the same time, or
  2. you can take “teacher’s college” or an education degree after graduating from your undergraduate studies.

Not all universities offer both paths, so know which option is best for you and which universities offer that option.
